OBSESSION
OBSESSION (1865-1870)
The photo collages "Obsession" from the 19th century, which come from a private collection, belong to the earliest collages in art history according to the current state of research. After analyzing the photographic technique and the clothing and hairstyles of the depicted persons, the origin of the collages is estimated between 1865 and 1870. All of the works were created in Lyon. Among others, six of the approximately 50 pages from an album that was dissolved are in the Muséed'Orsay in Paris.
Die aus einer Privatsammlung stammenden Photocollagen „Obsession“ aus dem 19. Jhd. gehören nach heutigem Stand der Forschung zu den frühesten Collagen der Kunstgeschichte. Nach Analyse der photographischen Technik und der Kleidung und Frisuren der abgebildeten Personen wird die Entstehung der Collagen auf 1865 bis 1870 geschätzt. Alle Werke sind in Lyon entstanden. Unter anderem befinden sich sechs der ca. 50 Seiten aus einem Album, das aufgelöst wurde, im Muséed’Orsay in Paris.
